(Originally written during Covid shut-downs. But the awesome thing is that God’s provision is a perpetual thing. This is just as applicable now as when I first wrote it.)
God’s supply line isn’t broken.
Read that again if you need to. Go ahead. I’ll wait to continue.
God’s supply line isn’t broken.
And here are a few ways I’m seeing it in action…
“Look not every man on his own thing, but every man also on the things of others.”
“Carry one another’s burdens.”
Yep. Person after person, story after story, we’re experiencing community and sharing. It reminds me of the days following 9/11 and the collapse of the Twin Towers. That was another time when we realized that life had changed, abruptly and forever. But even in the midst of the fear and chaos we saw neighbors helping neighbors, food was being shared, offers of help were everywhere, and prayer was, well, everywhere it hadn’t been for a long long time. And we’re seeing those things again.
“Giving thanks always.” Do we like this?! No. NO. We do not. But in the middle of the chaos, I see so many people showing gratitude. For the little things. For the big things. For people. People we sometimes don’t even like.
“I will never leave you nor forsake you.” Did you eat today? My family did. I’m guessing yours did too. (If not, message me. Let’s see if we can fix that.)
And lest I sound preachy… I’m not. I’m reminding myself. Because today the fear was starting to overwhelm me. And I had to remind myself of what I know to be true. Things like God’s faithfulness. Things like God’s provision. Things like His power. Things like friends and family that catch us. And then we catch them. And then they catch us. And then we all realize we’re catching each other. We’re lifting each other. We’re sharing. We’re giving. And somehow God keeps meeting the needs. Oftentimes through us.
Hang on, friends. We’re in this together. God’s supply line is not broken, and HE HAS NOT ABANDONED US.
